Surf School - Achill Island, Ireland

Surf School, Achill Island, Ireland

This project is a surf school that can sleep up to 20 students which require at least two showers each per day.

This unique design required two 500 litre cylinders, with the hot water being delivered by the B1 3-12 HTR ecoGEO. 200 metre boreholes were the best solution as the school is located close to salt water. Underfloor heating was installed throughout to allow complete control from the Reception.

This system is the best solution for all the students hot water useage and the underfloor heating allows the wet room floors to dry quickly.

The owner of the surf school is currently in the process of building a bigger accommodation. This new building is 8500 square feet and able to accommodate up to 50 students. The surf school project allowed the owner to see for himself how effective the system works as we explained. The next project for the new building will include two 5-22 heat pumps with boreholes again.
