What is an aerothermal or air source heat pump?

The most efficient air-source heat pumps are the air-to-water heat pumps. They extract heat from the energy of outside air and transfer it to the water. By contrast, air conditioning units (air-to-air heat pumps) extract heat from the air and transfer it to the inside through the air and they are unable to heat domestic hot water (DHW) and heating.

Thanks to the high performance of the different types of air-source heat pumps, we can multiply electricity consumption by 3, 4 and 5 (depending on the external conditions and the installation), i.e. with 1kW of electricity consumed we can generate 3 kW to 5 kW of heat.
